Weekly Crime Report for Southeast Torrance & Street Sweeping Parking Enforcement

This report is for Sunday, December 6, 2015 through Saturday, December 12, 2015.
60 incidents were reported to Torrance Police during the period.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 6 in Torrance.
3 in North Torrance, 1 in Old Torrance, 1 in the Alta Loma Park area and 1 in Southeast Torrance.
Garages were unsecured in 2 incidents, a window was open in 1 incident and a house was fumigated
in 1 incident.

Tuesday, December 8th, 4:15 PM   2300 Block 236th St  (Arlington to Pennsylvania)
Suspects knocked on front door, enter garage when no one answers and flee when confronted
by witness.  No loss

AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 17 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
Windows were broken in 8 incidents, 2 vehicles were unlocked and 2 vehicles had the door locks punched.

This is a partial list of the items stolen from the vehicles:
Laptop, tablets, cell phones, stereo, cash, drill, purses, backpack, case of teeth samples, blower, edger, weed
eater, shoes, CDL, tote, plumbing equipment, third row seats, sunglasses, and sleeping bags.

Leave no trace!  Don’t leave any “sign” that there might be valuables “out of sight” in your vehicle, such as
docking stations or connector cables.  Leave nothing in “plain sight” that might make your vehicle worth
“investigating” by a thief; not even loose coins or a CD.  Very few auto burglaries are random – thieves see
something in plain sight that is valuable or hints of possible hidden valuables.

AUTO THEFT
There were 6 stolen vehicles in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.

THEFT
There were 21 incidents of theft in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
Catalytic converters were stolen from three vehicles on Sunday night, December 6th or early Monday, December 7th
in North Torrance.  A delivered parcel was taken from a residence in the 3800 Block of 226th Street.

STREET SWEEPING PARKING ENFORCEMENT
From December 20, 2015 to January 3, 2016, the Torrance Police Department will not enforce street
sweeping parking violations.  Street sweeping will continue during the period and drivers are asked
to comply with the posted street sweeping restrictions.
