RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 5 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
2 were in the Madrona Area in the 800 Block of Patronella Ave.
1 was in Old Torrance on Cabrillo but no loss.
1 in West Torrance and no loss.
1 in North Torrance and no loss.
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 12 in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance. 4 of the vehicles were unlocked.
Third row seats were taken from one vehicle.
2/26 8:30 PM to 2/27 6:40 AM 2400 Block 232nd St (Pennsylvania Ave)
Suspect entered unlocked vehicle and stole GPS.
AUTO THEFT
There were 5 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
TORRANCE ALERTS, A NEW NOTIFICATION SYSTEM FOR NATURAL DISASTERS AND MAJOR EMERGENCIES
In the aftermath of the Exxon Mobile refinery explosion, this new notification system has become operational.
Residents can choose to receive alerts a variety of ways, including via land line, cellphone, email and text. A smartphone app also is available.
But residents must opt in to the new system by registering at www.TorranceCA.Gov/TorranceAlerts.
