The new protected/permissive signals and signage have been installed at Sepulveda Blvd and Arlington Avenue & Sepulveda Blvd and Cabrillo Avenue.     The signals will be activated  beginning at 9:00 AM, Tuesday, July 1st.   The work will start first at Arlington and Sepulveda.  When those signals are functioning, the work will begin on the intersection at Cabrillo Avenue and Sepulveda Blvd.    Left-turns will be prohibited and the intersections will be 4-way stop controlled during the switch-over to the new signals.   Delays are expected.  Use of alternate routes is recommended to avoid delays.

Lomita celebrates 50 years as a City. On Saturday, June 28th, Lomita will celebrate 50 years as an incorporated City with an event at Lomita Park.  The event will begin at 3PM with community groups selling food and drinks.  Local vendors will also be on hand for food deliveries such as pizza.  A DJ will play music in Lomita Park beginning at 4:30PM and the event will culminate with a fireworks show around 9PM. This report is for Sunday, May 25, 2014 through Saturday, May 31, 2014.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 5 residential burglaries in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 1 in the Hollywood Riviera, 2 in North Torrance and 2 in Old Torrance. 1 residence in North Torrance was tented for fumigation.   AUTO BURGLARIES There were 19 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.   AUTO THEFT There were 10 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 6 occurred in daylight hours and 4 after 8PM.   John Bailey, President SETHA
