This report is for Sunday, May 30, 2021 through Friday, June 4th, 2021. 52 items in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showpublisheddocument/65868 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES None reported AUTO BURGLARIES There were 10 in Torrance. 3 vehicles were unlocked and windows were smashed in 3 vehicles for entry. Items stolen included tools, cash, access card, sun visors, engine parts, dash camera, jewelry, tote, ID, wallet, pickup tailgate, golf clubs, registration, keys, another wallet, registration and title, and electronic stud finder. AUTO THEFT 11 vehicles were stolen in Torrance and most of them were oldies. 85 Toyota P/U, 93 Honda Civic, 98 Chev Van, 99 Honda Civic, 00 Chev Silverado, 04 Chev Suburban, 05 Chev Sierra, 05 GMC Sierra, 2011 Ford F350, 14, BMW X3 and a 2016 Ford Transit. THEFT There were 14 incidents and 10 of those were catalytic converter issues. A catalytic converter was stolen in the 1900 block of 238th St on June 1st. One porch piracy incident in the 2700 Block of 176th St and multiple mailboxes were opened in New Horizons in the 22500 Block of Nadine Circle. Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
