Weekly Crime Report for 12/13 to 12/19 2020

This report is for Sunday, December 13, 2020 through Saturday, December 19, 2020. 65 items in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showpublisheddocument?id=62767 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY There was 1 in Torrance in the Southwood Riviera area. 12/14/2020 4:40 AM 22700 Block Ladeene Avenue Suspect took property out of unlocked vehicle, used remote to enter garage and took cash, garage remote and can of soda. AUTO BURGLARIES There were 21 in Torrance including 1 in Southeast Torrance and 5 in the 4400 Block of Pacific Coast Highway. 12/15 6PM to 12/16 7:20 AM 23700 Cabrillo Av Wallet, cash, sunglasses and purse taken from possibly unlocked vehicle. Windows were smashed in 12 vehicles and 4 vehicles were unlocked. Items stolen included cash, earthquake backpack, jewelry, tools, cables, shoebox, cell phone, flash drive, clothes, skateboard, dash camera, flashlights, another garage remote, key, laptop case, laptop bag, decorative rock, laptop, another wallet, more jewelry, more tools, backpack, credit cards, subwoofer, shoes, socket set, masks, gowns, gloves, paperwork, rolling cart, candles, vehicle registration, disable placard, registration sticker, another garage remote, manual, registration and insurance paperwork. AUTO THEFT There were 16 vehicles stolen in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. Ford and Chevy pickup trucks continue to be stolen. THEFT There were 15 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 7 catalytic converters were stolen from vehicles. A delivered parcel was taken from the mail area in an apartment in the 23900 Block of Ocean Avenue and multiple mail boxes were pried open in an apartment in the 300 Block of Palos Verdes Blvd. On December 15th at approximately 12:45 PM, a lady in the 24600 Block of Crenshaw Blvd had her wallet taken out of her purse as she was shopping. On the same day at approximately 1:30 PM, a lady in the 4200 Block of Pacific Coast Highway had her wallet taken out of her purse as she was shopping. Happy New Year! Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
