Torrance Police Chief Eve Berg has announced that she will be retiring from her position as Police Chief effective Jan. 8, 2021.
Chief Berg began her law enforcement career with the Inglewood PD in 1984 after graduating from the LASD Academy. She was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1994; to rank of Lieutenant in 1999 and in 2003 the rank of Captain.
In 2011, she was appointed Chief of Police for the Manhattan Beach Police Department and served in the capacity until appointed in January, 2018 as the Torrance Police Department's Chief of Police. Thank you Chief for your service.
The City Manager will appoint an interim chief and follow up with recruitment.
