This report is for Sunday, October 25, 2020 through Saturday, October 31, 2020. 52 incidents listed in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showdocument?id=62242 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 5 in Torrance. 2 in the Riviera and 1 each in the Hillside area, Marble Estates and North Torrance. AUTO BURGLARIES There were 13 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. Items taken included mail, parcels, tablet, tools, electronics, cartons of cigarettes, clothes, chargers, handicap placard, jumper cable, camera, laptop, speaker, backpack, dash camera, backup camera, sunglasses, jumper cables, flashlights, power tools, hand tools, wallet, cell phone, purse, more sunglasses, watch, gloves, figurine, more sunglasses, and duffel. 10 31 2020 2:05 pm 17100 Block Ardath Avenue, Suspect forced open door on US Mail truck and stole mail and parcels. AUTO THEFT There were 12 stolen vehicles in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance. 10 26 2020 23700 Block Western Avenue (Knoll’s Trailer Lodge) 2009 Infiniti G37 stolen. THEFT There were 12 incidents in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 6 catalytic converters were stolen from vehicles and 1 delivered parcel stolen from a porch in the 18000 Block of Chanera Avenue. ROBBERY-STRONG ARM 10 25 2020 5:17 pm 21800 Block Hawthorne Blvd Suspects surround victims, declare gang, slap one victim in the face and forcibly take two victims’ hats and jewelry. Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
