Suspicious Death in Old Torrance



Torrance police were investigating the death of a woman found on the sidewalk in Old Torrance early Saturday morning, April 18, authorities said.
Officers were called to the 1600 block of Cabrillo Avenue about 4:45 a.m. on a report of a person down on the sidewalk and found a woman with head trauma, Sgt. Alexander Martinez said.
Torrance Fire paramedics responded and pronounced her dead at the scene, Martinez said. Further details about the woman were not immediately available.
Police were investigating the incident as a suspicious death as of 9 a.m. while waiting on the coroner to determine what caused it, Martinez said.

Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
