Explosion and Fire at the Marathon Refinery in Carson

A fire erupted Tuesday night at the Marathon Petroleum Refinery in Carson and at least one explosion was reported.
The fire broke out about 10:50 p.m., at the refinery, which is located at 2350 E. 223rd St., between Wilmington Avenue and Alameda Street and south of the San Diego (405) Freeway.
Details of what sparked the fire were not immediately available.
Video from the scene showed several burn-offs occurring at the plant.
