Weekly Crime Report 6 17 18 to 6 23 18

 This report is for Sunday, June 17, 2018 through Saturday, June 23, 2018. 42 items are on the report. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 3 in Torrance. 1 in North Torrance, 1 in Delthorne and 1 in the Torrance El area. The residence in North Torrance was an unsecured residence tented for fumigation. AUTO BURGLARIES There were 8 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. Items stolen included a third row seat, machinery from a truck bed, bag, cell phone, tablet, welders, band saw, roto hammers taken from a truck bed, backpack, purse, tablet and keys.  AUTO THEFT There were 2 stolen vehicles and none in Southeast Torrance. THEFT There were 13 incidents in Torrance including 1 in Southeast Torrance in the 23000 Block of Cabrillo Avenue involving a stolen catalytic converter. There were 47 incidents in the complete log.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY There was 1 residential burglary and it was in Southeast Torrance. Monday, June 11th, 7:15 AM to 12:20 PM, 2800 Block Gramercy Ave (near Sepulveda and Arlington) Sliding glass door smashed for entry, residence ransacked and jewelry stolen.   AUTO BURGLARIES There were 15 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 3 vehicles were unlocked and windows were smashed in 3 vehicles.   Stolen items included backpack, cosmetics, wallet, checkbooks, purse, cash, tote, laptop, tablets, makeup, medication, headphones, third row seats, wood saw, screwdriver, amplifier, toolbox, tools, tote bag, books, more cash, knife, registration, insurance, stereo, more tools and medication, another purse, more cash, portfolio, registration, insurance papers, first aid kit, charger, more cash and a checkbook. ...

Update on Torrance Election

Torrance had 82,722 registered voters. Percentages of Torrance voters who voted is not yet available.   The canvass of provisional and vote by mail ballots is not complete . The first ballot counting update will be this Friday, 6/8/18 at approximately 1 p.m, and will occur every Tuesday and Friday until June 29, 2018 when the Los Angeles County Registrar/Recorder is tentatively scheduled to certify election results.  The voter roster print error that occurred in Los Angeles County was found at only 5 precincts in Torrance. There was only 1 voter left off the roster in each of the 5 precincts for a total of 5 voters affected in Torrance. The Torrance City Clerk will bring a Resolution to the Torrance City Council on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, declaring the results of the 2018 Election and Installation of Officers.
