Weekly Crime Report for Southeast Torrance and Crenshaw Blvd Traffic Impact



 Traffic Impact on Crenshaw Blvd, Friday, May 12th through Monday, May 15th

Starting Friday, 5/12/17, through Monday, 5/15/17, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.,
 Northbound #2 and #3 lanes of Crenshaw Blvd. between Del Amo Blvd and 190th
will be closed for curb and gutter, sidewalk, and street repairs caused by water main break.
 Traffic delays are expected  


This report is for Sunday, April 30, 2017 through Saturday, May 6, 2017.
There were 51 incidents reported in Torrance.
 
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 3 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
1 each in Southwood, West and North Torrance.
A garage was unsecured in one location and a door was unlocked in another
residence.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 14 in Torrance and 4 in Southeast Torrance.
Items taken from vehicles included purses, tailgate, bag, tablet, cell phone,
checkbook, notebook, drill, hammer drill, skill saw, band saw, extension cord,
toggles, grinder, dollies, wallet, laptop, keys, sunglasses, cash, bullet-proof vest,
lottery tickets, registration, checkbooks, ID, and credit cards.
 
5 3 2017    6 AM                   2200 Sepulveda Blvd                   Flower pots thrown at vehicle windows to gain entry.  No loss
5 4 to 5 5  Overnight           2100 Block Middlebrook Road    Vehicle window smashed and drill taken.
5 5 2017    7 PM to 11 PM  23600 Crenshaw Blvd                   Unlocked vehicle. Bag, tablet, cell phone, checkbook and notebook taken.
5 6 2017    9:45 AM             1700 Sepulveda Blvd                    Vehicle window smashed and purse taken.
 
AUTO THEFT
8 vehicles were stolen in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 
 
THEFT
There were 15 incidents reported and none in Southeast Torrance.
Batteries were taken from 2 vehicles, 3 locked bicycles were stolen,
1 car cover and license plates.

Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
