You are invited to attend this public meeting focusing on the US Chemical Safety
Board’s (CSB) investigation of the incident at the ExxonMobil refinery in Torrance in
February 2015. At the meeting, the Board and public will hear from agency staff about
preliminary findings and future investigation plans. There will be time for public
comments. The Board and public will also discuss with a panel of experts California’s
draft oil refinery safety reforms.
During the February 2015 incident, two workers were injured after a hydrocarbon
explosion in a pollution control process.
Meeting pre-registration is not required, but to ensure seating please pre-register by

CSB is an independent federal agency charged with investigating serious chemical
incidents to find their root causes. CSB does not issue citations or fines but makes
safety recommendations to companies, industry and labor organizations, and
regulatory agencies such as OSHA and EPA. CSB Board Members are appointed by
