The
Southern California Edison (SCE) Power Outage of Thursday, August 22nd in
Southeast Torrance and Lomita
Although power was restored to the
approximately 2,400 residents of Southeast Torrance and Lomita,
there is a lingering problem with low
voltage for some residents. Readings in the range of 103 to 107
volts have been reported especially from
5PM to 9PM and again in the morning up to around 9AM. The hot weather
brought the issue to a full rolling boil
today with a number of residents calling me today to vent their frustration with
Edison.
I contacted Scott Gobble, Region Manager,
SCE, and he advised they are aware of the problem. New
underground cables are being installed
with a full resolution to the issue promised by Saturday, August 31st.
If your incandescent light bulbs, not the
CFL bulbs, appear dim, it may due to low voltage. You should
report it to SCE so they will know how
widespread the problem is in our area. Contact the SCE phone
number on your monthly statement.
