There are 65 incidents in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showdocument?id=59715   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were two in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. One in North Torrance where a ladder was used to access a second story balcony with unlocked door for entry and steal a tile saw. One daytime burglary in the Riviera where a open door was forced for entry, property ransacked and purse, jewelry, watches and pillowcase were stolen.   AUTO BURGLARIES There were 14 in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance. 6/18 5 pm to 6/19 5 am  23300 Block Arlington Av Suspect entered unlocked vehicle, ransacked and took documents, light bulbs and lumbar support pad.   5 vehicles were unlocked, 4 vehicles unknown means of entry, 3 vehicles with smashed windows and 1 vehicle with pried door handle for entry. ...

Sun, Jun 21 at 5:58 PM   The Sepulveda Blvd Rehabilitation (Hawthorne Blvd to Western Avenue) Project bids have been extended to close on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.  However, underground pipeline  repair work will start on Monday, June 22, 2020 during daylight hours.    Westbound Sepulveda Blvd. will be reduced to one lane of traffic just west of Arlington Ave. from June 22 to approximately August 22 due to pipeline repairs.  The Planning Commission, on June 17. 2020  approved a modification to allow an Amazon Hub Retail/Service Center to use the existing old Costco building at 2751 Skypark Drive instead of demolishing the structure and building three new warehouses.   It was determined that the project will not produce a hazard occasioned by unusual volume or character of traffic or the congregating of large numbers of people or vehicles.    Prior to the building permit being issued,  the applicant shall enter into negotiations for the formation of, participate in, or annex into, a Community Financing District (CFO) to pay for a portion of the additional costs for ongoing City services, including but not limited to, road maintenance, park maintenance, lighting, and public safety, to the satisfaction of the Community Development and Finance Directors; (Planning/Finance).   Links the details of the project: https://www.torranceca.gov/Home/ShowDocu...
