This report is for Sunday, February 21, 2021 through Friday, February 26, 2021. 44 items listed in the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showpublisheddocument?id=63542 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 3 in Torrance. 2 in Southeast Torrance and 1 in the Delthorne area. 2/24 to 2/26 23800 Block Arlington Avenue Bicycle stolen 2/24 8:35 AM 2100 Block 235th St 2 suspects. Screen removed and window pushed open for entry. Property ransacked with handbags/purses, jewelry, wallets and cologne stolen. AUTO BURGLARIES There were 7 in Torrance with windows smashed for entry in 3 vehicles and 1 vehicle was unlocked. Items stolen included a purse, backpack, tools, stereo, air compressor, tool case, cell phones, laptop, printer, paperwork and cosmetics bag. This is a Torrance Police Department posting from 2016 on auto burglaries. THE TORRANCE POLICE DEPARTMENT WOULD LIKE TO REMIND MOTORISTS TO ALWAYS LOCK THEIR VEHICLES AND NEVER LEAVE VALUABLES WITHIN SAME, PARTICULARLY IN PLAIN SIGHT. EVEN IF PLANNING TO ONLY BE AWAY FROM YOUR VEHICLE FOR A BRIEF TIME, YOUR VEHICLE SHOULD BE LEFT LOCKED WITHOUT VALUABLES PRESENT. THIEVES TARGET STEREOS, CDs, PURSES, WALLETS, BACKPACKS, DUFFEL BAGS, BRIEFCASES, LAPTOPS, CELL PHONES, RECENTLY PURCHASED MERCHANDISE, TOOLS, REGISTRATION AND INSURANCE DOCUMENTS, IN ALL TYPES OF VEHICLES, ALL TIMES OF DAY, ALL DAYS OF WEEK IN COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL AREAS IN ALL PARTS OF THE CITY. AUTO THEFT There were 11 stolen vehicles in Torrance. 7 of them were pickups or SUV's including a 55 Ford F100, 99 Ford E250, 00 Chev Silverado, 02 Chev Silverado, 03 Chev van, 05 GMC Sierra and a 06 Toyota Tacoma. Pickups and SUV's continue to be the heavy hitters. THEFT There were 11 incidents in Torrance including 1 in Southeast Torrance. 5 catalytic converters were stolen and 3 delivered parcels were stolen in the Delthorne and North Torrance Areas. 2/25 to 2/26 2300 Block Sepulveda Blvd stolen catalytic converter. Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
