RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
An increase in burglaries this week.  There were 8 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
2 in North Torrance, 2 in the Riviera, and 1 each in the Madrona area, Anza & Emerald, Walteria
and Old Torrance.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 17 in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance.  6 vehicles were unlocked, 9 vehicle windows
were smashed for entry and 2 by unknown means.  Six purses were stolen from vehicles!
 
8 21 17  7PM to 8 22 17 8 AM  2300 227th Street   MP3 taken from possible unlocked vehicle.
 
The following items were stolen from the vehicles:
Wallet, sunglasses, pay stubs, SSN, charger, purses (6), framing gun, molding gun, grinders, circular saw,
backpack, volleyball, briefcase, cash, medication, stereo, remote, ear buds, scooter, copper wire,
license plate, cash, more sunglasses, manual, vehicle registration, shoes, electronic items, bags of clothes,
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 4 stolen vehicles in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
THEFT
There were 12 reported incidents and none in Southeast Torrance.
Catalytic converters were stolen from 6 vehicles in North Torrance.
 
ROBBERY – STRONG ARM
There were two incidents in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance.

Suspect who is a passenger in a vehicle grabs victim’s property and yells for
the driver to accelerate, dragging the victim.

This report is for Sunday, July 11, 2021 through Saturday, July 17, 2021. 45 incidents reported in the City of Torrance Crime Log at: https://www.torranceca.gov/home/showpublisheddocument/67336/637625553607530000 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 3 in Torrance. 1 each in Southeast Torrance, Old Torrance and the Hillside area. Southeast Torrance 7 12 5PM 2400 Block 235th Place Suspect entered open garage, entered residence via open access door, fled when resident yelled at him. No property loss Old Torrance 7 12 1AM 800 Block Portola Ave Suspected entered residence via unlocked door and fled when victim woke up in the bedroom. Hillside 7 16 2:44AM 2500 Ridgeland Rd Glass Panel removed to unlock door for entry, Suspects fled when victim awoke, screamed and chased them out of the residence.
