Weekly Crime Report for SE Torrance 7 2 2017 through 7 8 2017



This report is for Sunday, July 2, 2017 through Saturday, July 8, 2017.
There were 60 incidents reported to Torrance Police.
 
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 3 in Torrance.
1 in Southeast Torrance, 1 in North Torrance and 1 in the Madrona area.
 
7/6/2017  9 AM to 3:30 PM  1900 Block 237th Street  (Walnut to Cabrillo)
Entry to residence made via garage door.  Residence ransacked and laptop,
tablet and camera stolen.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 11 in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance.
 
7/8/2017 5:30 PM to 7/9/2017 3:20 PM  1700 Block 236th Street
Entry made via unlocked vehicle, ransacked and sunglasses and key stolen.
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 23 vehicles stolen in Torrance including 19 stolen from
the 20500 Block of Hawthorne Blvd as reported on July 6th. 
 
THEFT
There were 14 incidents reported including the loss of 4 vehicle catalytic converters.
 
VANDALISM
There were 4 reported incidents including graffiti in numerous areas of Riviera
Elementary School between 6 PM on July 2nd and 6 AM on July 3rd.

Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
