(SETHA)  TORRANCE, Calif. (FOX 11/CNS) - A woman in her early 70s was beaten inside  her Torrance home by two men who staged a home invasion robbery but were  later arrested, authorities said Tuesday. An alert neighbor noticed suspicious activity outside the home on Sara Drive  and called police at 10:40 p.m. Monday, according to Torrance police Lt.  Steve Danjou. When officers arrived, the two men fled the home, Danjou said. One was  arrested immediately and the second suspect was found in the attic of the  woman's gar Officers discovered the woman was struck several times by the robbers, he  said. Shots fired at Torrance mobile home park POSTED:  05/26/17, 8:04 PM PDT   |   UPDATED: 39 SECS AGO # COMMENTS By Larry Altman laltman@scng.com @larryaltman on Twitter Police were investigating a report of gunshots Friday night at the entrance to a mobile home park in southeast Torrance. Residents of Knolls Lodge, 23701 Western Ave., heard 10 gunshots at 5:35 p.m., Torrance police Sgt. Ronald Harris said. A large contingent of Torrance police officers responded to the scene. There were no immediate reports of wounded victims. It was not immediately known what happened.

  Traffic Impact on Crenshaw Blvd, Friday, May 12th through Monday, May 15th Starting Friday, 5/12/17, through Monday, 5/15/17, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.,  Northbound #2 and #3 lanes of Crenshaw Blvd. between Del Amo Blvd and 190 th will be closed for curb and gutter, sidewalk, and street repairs caused by water main break.  Traffic delays are expected   This report is for Sunday, April 30, 2017 through Saturday, May 6, 2017. Wallets and Credit Cards Stolen from Torrance Car Dealerships

  Over the past week, two separate car dealerships have reported that a suspect has gone into unoccupied offices and stolen wallets and then immediately began using credit cards at retail stores. CSB Releases Final Report into 2015 Explosion at ExxonMobil Refinery in Torrance, California May 3, 2017, Torrance, CA, -- Today, the U.S. Chemical Safety Board (CSB) released its   final report   into the February 18, 2015, explosion at the   ExxonMobil refinery   in Torrance, California. The blast caused serious property damage to the refinery and scattered catalyst dust up to a mile away from the facility into the nearby community. The incident caused the refinery to be run at limited capacity for over a year, raising gas prices in California and costing drivers in the state an estimated $2.4 billion. The explosion occurred in the refinery’s fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit, where a variety of products, mainly gasoline, are produced. A reaction between hydrocarbons and catalyst takes place in what is known as the “hydrocarbon side” of the FCC unit.
