This report is for Sunday, July 17, 2016 through Saturday, July 23, 2016. 72 incidents were reported to Torrance Police.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 6 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 4 in North Torrance and 1 each in Olde Torrance and Walteria.   AUTO BURGLARIES There were 22 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 3 were reported in the 2600 Block of PCH, 1 in the 3400 Block of Carson, 1 in the 3500 Block of Carson and 1 in the 3600 Block of Fashion Way. Third row seats were taken from two vehicles.   AUTO THEFT There were 4 stolen vehicles and 1 in Southeast Torrance. Tuesday, July 19th 11:30 to 11:45 AM, 235th and Cabrillo  1995 Ford Van   THEFT There were 19 reported thefts and none in Southeast Torrance.   ROBBERY – WEAPON There was one incident in Southeast Torrance. A consultant for the City of Lomita is currently preparing the environmental document. It will not get to a hearing until sometime later this year or early next year. ExxonMobil hits the front page of the Daily Breeze on Tuesday morning with disclosure of a huge amount of fines. On May 13, 2016, ExxonMobil paid the AQMD $4,000,000.00 for Rule 1118 mitigation fines for FY 15-16. There were 47 incidents reported.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were none reported in Torrance.   AUTO BURGLARIES There were 6 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 4 vehicles were not secured and windows were smashed in 2 vehicles to gain entry.   · Southern California Live Steamers is saddened to share with our riders that the SCLS facility in Wilson Park, Torrance, was once again robbed and vandalized. This time, the vandals heavily damaged one storage unit that housed an engine and operations equipment.   The Sunday Run Day on July 3rd will be severely impacted so we are asking for your patience.  Our volunteer members will try to rebuild and restore what has been damaged or stolen so that we can return to regular opera ting conditions. It has always been our pleasure to provide FREE train rides and we are saddened by this egregious event. As you know, SCLS is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization. Our operation and maintenance costs are thru your donations. Unfortunately, funds used to fix this damage will impact planned improvements and enhancements.
