AQMD HEARING ON EXXONMOBIL REFINERY POSTPONED

 

    
The AQMD Hearing on the ExxonMobil Refinery scheduled for Saturday, March 19th at 9AM at the James Armstrong Theatre in Torrance has been postponed.  I contacted the Clerk’s Office of the Hearing Board and was advised that the meeting may be rescheduled to April 2, 2016, time and location to be determined.  It is my understanding that Exxon Mobil requested the delay prior to the unplanned flaring incident.
 
The Hearing Board is appointed by the AQMD but acts independently from the Board.  It has been my experience that the Board does not give any slack if the mitigation measures presented to them are not adequate.
