This report is for Sunday, May 3rd through Saturday, May 9, 2015
 
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 8 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
2 in Hollywood Riviera and 1 each in Hillside, North, Madrona Marsh, Hickory,
Southwest Riviera and Old Torrance areas.
Two homes had unlocked doors. In one incident, suspect took remote from
unlocked vehicle to gain entry to garage.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 7 auto burglaries in Torrance and 4 in Southeast Torrance.
5/3 3 PM to 5/4 7:30 AM     2300 Block 232nd St  (Arlington to Pennsylvania)
Entry by unknown means, purse stolen.
5/3 4 PM to 5/4 6:45 AM     2200 Block 231st St (Arlington to Pennsylvania)
Vehicle unlocked. Clothes and bank card stolen.
5/3 8 PM to 5/4 11 AM        2200 Block 231st St (Arlington to Pennsylvania)
Vehicle unlocked.  Flashlights, sunglasses and paperwork stolen.
5/4 12PM to 5/4 5PM          23300 Block Arlington
Window smashed for entry.  Wrench sets, oxygen sensor and screwdriver set stolen.
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 4 vehicles stolen in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
THEFT
8 catalytic converters were stolen in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
A catalytic converter was stolen this week on Wednesday, May 13th from a vehicle
at 233rd and Walnut St during the early morning hours.  A resident called Torrance
Police when he heard the sound of a Sawz All.

Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
