Weekly Crime Report for Southeast Torrance


This report is for Sunday, January 18, 2015 through Saturday, January 24, 2015
 
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 7 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
2 in North Torrance and 1 each in the Hillside, Madrona, Old Torrance, Marble
Estates and Victor Park areas.  The house in Old Torrance was tented for fumigation.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 13 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 8 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
SCAMS
Suspects posed as US Immigration employees, telephoned a Torrance resident and convinced
victim to pay penalty using green dot and reload it cards.
 
CATALYTIC CONVERTERS
3 incidents of catalytic converters being stolen from vehicles were reported.
None in Southeast Torrance, 2 in North Torrance and 1 in Old Torrance.
 
The heavy black smoke noticed this afternoon in the area was from a flare
at the Phillips 66 refinery in Wilmington and was quite visible in Southeast
Torrance.

Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
