65th Anniversary of the End of World War II

 Saturday, August 14, 1945-2010.  It was a day of celebration, a day like no other.  AMVETS Department of California and the Spirit of 45.org invite you to a special event honoring the legacy of the Greatest Generation of World War II.

1PM to 6PM     WWII 1940-1945 historical displays
7PM to 10PM   Victory Canteen Dance with the Bill Elliott Swing Orchestra.  Please  wear your vintage allied military or civilian attire.
6PM                 Swing Dance Presentation and Lesson.
7PM                 Bugles Across America Program will play Taps.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Fashion Show of the War Years.
The event and the dance are free to the public.  Donations will be accepted.

Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
