Torrance Police Chief Eve Berg has announced that she will be retiring from her position as Police Chief effective Jan. 8, 2021. Chief Berg began her law enforcement career with the Inglewood PD in 1984 after graduating from the LASD Academy. She was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1994; to rank of Lieutenant in 1999 and in 2003 the rank of Captain. In 2011, she was appointed Chief of Police for the Manhattan Beach Police Department and served in the capacity until appointed in January, 2018 as the Torrance Police Department's Chief of Police. The vaccine is called AZD1222 and has already gone through early trials. This trial is designed to determine whether the vaccine can prevent symptomatic COVID-19 after two doses. The study aims to enroll 30,000 volunteers across the United States. It is important to note that this vaccine does not have a live virus and cannot give a person COVID-19.
