Weekly Crime Report for Southeast Torrance and Updates

  This report is for Sunday, December 18, 2016 through Saturday, December 24, 2016. 56 incidents were reported to Torrance Police during the reported period.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 4 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 2 were in North Torrance and 2 in the Hollywood Riviera area.   AUTO BURGLARIES There were 18 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 2 vehicles were unlocked and windows were smashed for entry in 6 vehicles.   AUTO THEFT There were 10 stolen vehicles in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.   THEFT There were 12 incidents of theft and none in Southeast Torrance.   Link to the Torrance Police Department Weekly Crime Log http://www.torrnet.com/TPD/Documents/12-18-2016_to_12-24-2016.pdf   Trash pickup will be one day later on Friday, January 6, 2017 in Southeast Torrance.  This report is for Sunday, December 22, 2016 through Saturday, December 17, 2016. There were 49 incidents reported to Torrance Police.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES There were 5 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 2 in Old Torrance and 1 each in North, Hollywood Riviera and Southwood. The burglary in the Riviera was between 6:30 PM and 10 PM while the others were during the day.  The house in Southwood is under construction and the garage was open in one of the Old Torrance burglaries.   AUTO BURGLARIES There were 15 in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance.  Third row seats were taken from 3 vehicles during daylight hours.   12/17 7PM to 12/18 8 AM   2100 Block 235th Street Suspect enters unlocked vehicle and took firearms, backpack, medication, cash and flashlights.   List of items stolen from vehicles this reporting period.  This report is for Sunday, December 4, 2016 through Saturday, December 10, 2016 There were 55 incidents reported to Torrance Police during the week.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY There was one in Torrance and it was in North Torrance.   AUTO BURGLARY There were 23 in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance. 12/8 3:45PM to 12/9 7:30AM   2400 Block 237th Place (Pennsylvania Ave to Crenshaw Blvd) Vehicle entered by unknown means and clipboard stolen. Method used to enter vehicles: 5-Smashed window, 6-Unknown means, 4-unlocked, 3-door lock punched, 2-door handle defeated.   AUTO THEFT There were 8 stolen vehicles in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.   THEFT There were 11 instances in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. Tuesday, December 13th, 12:35AM Police Activity in Southeast Torrance 235 and Walnut Streets

  At 12:35 AM, Tuesday Morning, December 13th, Torrance Police received a call of an assault with a deadly weapon (Code 245) that just occurred in the area of 235th Street and Walnut Street involving possible gang members using a firearm.   Victims indicated they were walking in the area of 235th/Walnut when the suspect vehicle approached and two passengers exited, brandishing a small revolver and began yelling at them.   Victims, in fear, fled to a nearby residence and hid as the suspects fled in the suspect vehicle.   Torrance Police units responded, code 3, and located the suspect vehicle, which turned out to be a stolen vehicle. A felony stop was conducted and one subject fled on foot from the vehicle and jumped the fence into the Knolls Lodge Trailer Park on Walnut.  Two other were detained in the vehicle and a perimeter was established.  Approximately one hour later into the perimeter, the third subject exited Knolls Lod...
