Weekly Crime Report for Southeast Torrance


This report is for Sunday, November 2, 2014 through Saturday, November 8, 2014
 
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 9 residential burglaries in Torrance.
1 each in Southeast Torrance, Madrona, Riviera, Marble Estates, Central Torrance
and 4 in North Torrance.
 
Sunday, November 2nd, 9:15 AM to 12:30PM, 236th Place and Cabrillo
Suspect pried open sliding glass door for entry.  Property ransacked and costume jewelry stolen.
 
In two of the North Torrance burglaries, the suspect fled when they realized the victim was home.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 17 auto burglaries in Torrance and 2 of them were in Southeast Torrance.
Perhaps you have wondered why we have all these auto burglaries in Torrance.
Take a gander at this list of items left in vehicles just waiting to be stolen.
 
This is a partial list of the items stolen just the week.
Backpack, duffel bag, gym equipment, tablets, laptop, MP3, battery pack, watch, jewelry, hard
drive, USB, headphones, wallets, cell phone, cash, GPS, passport, toiletries, wrapped present,
2 third row seats, subwoofer, amplifier, jacket, CD player, circular saw, sawzall, socket set
and cases of mechanical equipment. 
These guys don’t have to do their Christmas shopping at the mall or even pay sales tax!  It is
better than QVC and HSN.  6 of the vehicles were unlocked too.
 
Sunday, November 9th, 3:15AM, 1900 Block 234th St (Walnut)
Suspect ransacked vehicle and took floral bag and cash. Suspect drove a late model Honda
Accord, 4 door white sedan.  He was wearing knee high white socks, Dickie khaki long shorts and
a flannel jacket.
 
Wednesday, November 5th, 5:15 AM to 7:30AM, 23400 Block Arlington
Suspect forced door handle for entry and took GPS, remote, registration, insurance and hubcap bolt.
 
STOLEN VEHICLES
There were 6 stolen vehicles in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance.
Saturday, November 8th, 9AM to 2:13PM, 238th and Walnut St
Stolen 81 Chevrolet El Camino.

Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
