Weekly Crime Report for Southeast Torrance


This report is for Sunday, February 23, 2014 through Saturday, March 1, 2014
 
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES
There were 10 residential burglaries in Torrance.
2 in North Torrance, 2 in Southeast Torrance and 1 each in the following areas:
Madrona, Victor Park, DePortola Park, Sea Aire Golf Course, Rivieria and South Old Torrance.
 
Monday, February 24th, 8:15AM,                           1900 Block 230th St (Walnut – Cabrillo)  6 arrested
Wednesday, February 26th, 11AM to 1:15PM,      2100 Block 236th St (Cabrillo – Arlington)
Door forced open and property taken/jewelry, coins, watches.
 
AUTO BURGLARIES
There were 12 auto burglaries in Torrance and 1 in Southeast Torrance.
 
Sunday, February 23rd, 3PM to Monday, February 24th, 9AM     24200 Block Huber Avenue
Suspect entered unlocked vehicle and took cash/credit cards. 
 
AUTO THEFT
There were 7 vehicles stolen in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.
 
THEFT
Tuesday, February 25th, 10:15AM to 11AM,   Hull Middle School
Cell phone taken from secured locker.
 
Street Lights
The street lights in the City of Torrance are owned and maintained by Southern California Edison. The metal poles in Southeast Torrance have been replaced
with cement poles and the street lights on the wooden utility poles will not be replaced.  We would like to have you check the street lights in your neighborhood
on the wooden utility poles to be sure they are working.
  If a light is out, flickering, or on during the daytime, please
send an email to SoutheastTorranceHOA@yahoo.com with the following information:
Location of street light address, or close cross street 
What is the problem with the light.
Pole Number (The pole number is approximately 8 feet off the ground on the side of the pole facing the street.
We will be sending a list to Edison on Sunday, March 9th so they can make the needed repairs next week.

Paper Shredding and Electronics Recycling for Torrance Residents Only

City of Torrance Public Works is holding an Earth Day recycling event for free paper shredding and electronics recycling. Saturday, August 21, 2021 8 a.m. - noon Torrance City Hall East Employee Parking Lot (near Torrance Courthouse off Maple Avenue) The Recycling Event is for TORRANCE RESIDENTS ONLY.
