Weekly Crime Report for Southeast Torrance

This report is for Sunday, February 16, 2014 through Saturday, February 22, 2014.   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY There were 14 residential burglaries in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance. 5 were in North Torrance, 2 in Hollywood Riviera, 2 in the Hillside area, 2 near Victor Park and 1 each in Country Hills, Seaside Rancho and Delthorne.   This week, there have been two residential burglaries in Southeast Torrance near 230th and Cabrillo & 236th Street and Haas.   AUTO BURGLARY There were 10 auto burglaries in Torrance and 3 in Southeast Torrance.   2/18, Tuesday, 11:45AM  235th and Crenshaw Blvd.  Access gained to vehicle via rolled down window and wallet was stolen.   2/21, Friday, 9PM to 2/22 Saturday, 7:28AM   24100 Block Fulmar Avenue Vehicle was unlocked and backpack, sleeping bag, camping stove, cook pot, utensils, hatchet, knife, flashlight, clothes and sunglasses were stolen.   ...

Message sent via Nixle | Go to nixle.com | Unsubscribe Monday February 24, 2014, 5:04 PM Torrance Police Department Advisory: Torrance Police Apprehend Six Residential Burglars   On February 24, 2014 at approximately 8:15 AM a citizen called the Torrance Police Department and reported two male subjects in the rear yard of a residence located in the 1900 block of 230th St. Upon arrival, Officers located two suspects in the area who immediately fled when Officers attempted to make contact with them.   A short foot chase ensued and several members of the Torrance Police Department flooded the area and set up a perimeter. With the help of K-9 Police Dogs and a helicopter two suspects was located and immediately placed under arrest. Proposed 65 foot Cell Phone Tower at Sur La Brea Park

Several SETHA residents have received the following notice on the proposed 65 foot cell phone tower at Sur La Brea Park.   "Verizon Wireless continues to work with the City on a proposed lease for a cellular site at Sur La Brea Park.  No lease has been signed as of this time and any such lease would require a public meeting and review by the City Council. Several months have passed since the initial proposal for the Sur La Brea site and Verizon has requested to to a site assessment prior to determining whether they wish to further pursue a lease.  Verizon will be bring a drilling truck on the property to take core samples; the actual sampling should not take more than 1 hour. This report is for Sunday, February 9, 2014 through Saturday, February 15, 2014 RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES 5 in Torrance and none in Southeast Torrance.  There were 4 in North Torrance and 1 in the Madrona area.
