RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY   Wednesday, March 20th, 5:15PM to 9PM 23700 Block Cabrillo Avenue Suspect(s) broke glass in door, reached inside to unlock door for entry, ransacked.  Unknown property loss at time of report.

This report is for Sunday, March 10, 2013 through Saturday, March 16,2013   RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY     Tuesday, March 12th  3PM to 9PM  2100 Block Middlebrook Road (between Cabrillo and Arlington) Suspect pried off screen, entered window, ransacked and took property – wooden box, coins, file box, paperwork.   A residential burglary occurred yesterday morning, March 20th, on Reynosa Drive which is one block north of Middlebrook.     AUTO THEFT       Monday, March 11th  4:30PM to 9:30PM  23500 Block Crenshaw Blvd      Stolen 90 Honda Echo   AUTO BURGLARY   Friday, March 15th  3AM to 10AM     23600 Block Arlington Avenue Suspect pried open vehicle’s tool locker and took reciprocating saw.   John Bailey, President SETHA

City of Torrance Recommends 65 foot Cell Phone Tower at Sur La Brea Park

.  The Parks and Recreation Commission meeting on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 7PM in the West Annex Commission Meeting Room, 3031 Torrance Blvd will be voting on a proposed 65 foot cell phone tower at Sur La Brea Park.  Leroy Jackson, Torrance City Manager and Jeffrey Gibson, Torrance Community Services Director are recommending that the Parks and Recreation Commission concur in a proposal to relocate a Cellular site at Sur La Brea Park. This proposal involves the construction of a 65 foot cell phone tower at Sur La Brea Park with an adjoining ground structure.  For a copy of the agenda material, send an email to SoutheastTorranceHOA@att.net and we will email you the material.

Wanted Bulletin for Credit Card Fraud Suspects The pictured suspects are responsible for the fraudulent use of credit card information belonging to three victims in Torrance Police Department crime reports. The victims’ credit card information was used on weekends at ATMs in Palos Verdes Estates, Redondo Beach and Torrance. The victims’ credit cards remain in their possession and skimming is suspected. Torrance Police Dept Advisory Message

Advisory: New Payment Scam Targeting Southern California Edison Customers Southern California Edison is advising customers to be aware of a new telephone scam. Suspects are demanding immediate payment for allegedly past due electricity bills. Suspects have been calling Southern California Edison customers and telling them they must make immediate payment on past due bills or their electrical service will be disconnected. The suspects are demanding the payments be made through a prepaid cash card, such as PayPal or Green Dot card. Customers are being advised to be alert and if they believe they are receiving a fraudulent call they should ask for the callers name, department and phone number. If the caller refuses to give this information customers can call Southern California Edison at 800-655-4555. Southern California Edison is also advising customers to ask for identification when anyone comes to their door claiming to be a Southern California Edison utility worker..
