 10 vehicle batteries were stolen last week in Southeast Torrance.  Usually the cables are also cut so the batteries and the cables have to be replaced.   This morning an alert Gardena resident observed the Energizer Bunnies digging up a battery instead of carrots.  Gardena Police responded in record time and caught the bunnies.   John Bailey, President Southeast Torrance Homeowners’ Association, Inc. Two men got out and forced the hood open to her parked car. Knowing that she wasn’t scheduled for a free oil change, she immediately called 9-1-1.     A Community Meeting to discuss the elevated benzene levels at the air quality monitor located in the West High School parking lot originally scheduled for February 3, 2020 will be rescheduled  to a new date pending  the close of the AQMD  investigation.
